The Top

How does it feel to be at the top? we have all experienced it at some point in our lives and careers, that unmistakable feeling of “perfect” And you know this is it, that moment has arrived.

And such a moment it was when my macbook went ding and I received an email from the editor of Giggster, one of the largest and most influential aggregates on the internet. And I David Victory VRset have been voted as one of the Top 10 Fashion Photographers in Los Angeles

This top 10 list puts me in good company, one that I am happy to be a member of and for good reason, it wasn’t always like this and I never had it so good. Fashion photography is an illusive career very few are cut for, and fewer still make it to the top where you can call it a full time career.

There is just not enough room at the top of this pyramid, I am not discounting the iphone social media photographer crowds, that is an entirely different chapter in photography history if you can call a millimeter sensor, artificial intelligence, skin retouching algorithm and Lidar, photography… with billions of devices shooting trillions of point and click shots of anything and everything.

Photography school is an oxymoron, there is no such thing because I am still at school, my career is a full time unfolding school, one that never ends, if I were a carpenter I would be using nails, hammer, saw and wood…
